PASCO® selects 2010 Charity

PASCO® has teamed up with ACCESS, Inc. for PASCO's 2010 Charity Campaign. Access, Inc. operates an emergency shelter for single adult women and mothers with their children. Since 1983 Access has been dedicated to addressing the plight of homeless women and children in the Summit County area. The agency encourages the development of self-esteem and promotes the attainment of self-sufficiency through its commitment of providing a safe, supportive and holistic environment and through its programs of housing, education, advocacy and empowerment. PASCO's goal in 2010 is to raise money to refurbish an existing play set as well as add additional safe and fun playground equipment for the children sheltered at the agency.

Corporate Charities

ACCESS, INC. was chosen as PASCO®'s 2010 coporate charity. ACCESS, Inc. is dedicated to addressing the plight of homeless women and children in the Akron community.  The agency encourages the development of self-esteem and the attainment of self-sufficiency through its commitment of providing a holistic, safe and supportive environment, and through its programs of housing, advocacy and empowerment.  Employees of PASCO are concentrating on fund-raising efforts for an early fall installation of new playground equipment and the refurbishing of existing equipment.

 

Family Child Learning CenterAKRON CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL FAMILY CHILD LEARNING CENTER: Akron Children's Hospital Family Child Learning Center was chosen as PASCO®'s 2009 charity. The Family Child Learning Center is a research and training program center that is committed to developing, evaluating and disseminating innovative services for young children with developmental disabilities and their families. The playground was constructed by PASCO® employees, family and friends, along with Meyer Design, on September 26-27, 2009.

 

King Kennedy Community CenterKING KENNEDY COMMUNITY CENTER: King Kennedy center was chosen by the employees of PASCO® in 2008 to provide a new playground to the children of Ravenna Township. The playground was completed on September 20 and 21, 2008.

 

 

St. Rocco’s Early Childhood Learning CenterST. ROCCO'S EARLY CHILDHOOD LEARNING CENTER: PASCO® approached St. Rocco’s Parish in 2006 to provide a playground for the parish’s new Early Childhood Learning Center. In August 2006, while plans for the playground at the parish’s new Learning Center were being worked out, PASCO® employees helped with the setup of the parish’s annual Italian festival. In September 2007, employees joined together and helped build the playground, which is now used by the pre-school children of St. Rocco's school.

 

Pregnancy Support CenterPREGNANCY SUPPORT CENTER: PASCO® approached the Pregnancy Support Center of Stark County to provide quality playground equipment for the children they served. PASCO® employees helped with spring cleanup and spent a weekend at PSC to help build the playground. The playground is used today with Client Education Classes to provide childcare.

 

St. Augustine’s Child Enrichment CenterST. AUGUSTINE: St. Augustine’s Child Enrichment Center was long awaiting a playground, which included a special play area for children from toddlers through pre-schoolers to meet today’s standards for safety and accessibility. PASCO® employees raised $30,000 toward the $40,000 Playground Project and spent a weekend on Campus to help build the playground. Parents and teachers raised the additional $10,000 needed to complete the project.

 

Providence HousePROVIDENCE HOUSE: Providence House, located on Cleveland’s west side, is Ohio’s only licensed crisis nursery. The 26-bed facility cares for infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers through age five who either have been, or are at risk of, being abused, neglected or abandoned. Our pledge, along with additional grant monies, provided three unique outside play areas for these youngsters to enjoy during their stay.
